Specialised Housekeeping
With a successful history now spanning over 13 years in providing dedicated care alternatives for the local community, we are now offering a Specialised Housekeeping Service for clinical practices, complementary health centres, residential and nursing care homes.
An arranged visit of a Basing Care representative will carry out a full risk assessment to include a customised floor plan where colour coded zones will identify high, medium and low risk of infection. This provides you with the most appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment needed for each zone.
There has been intense media focus on stringent cleaning procedures combating against MRSA, C.Difficile and Swine Flu. Our new Specialised Housekeeping Service reflects our dedication in effective infection control and includes:
- Disciplines that include hand-washing practices, safe disposal of clinical/soiled waste, sharp materials and spillage cleaning
- A colour-coded cleaning system reducing the risks of cross infection, heightening hygiene awareness and providing clarity for all housekeeping staff responsible for optimal and high performance cleaning
- All Basing Care Housekeepers are trained to the National Care Standard Act 2000 – Standard 11 of Safe Working Practices and Risk assessent.

Principles of our Specialised Housekeeping Service
- Maintaining a clinical environment to a hygienic excellence
- Ensuring that all cleaning tasks are maintained in compliance with the Health & Safety At Work Act 1974, COSHH and RIDDOR Regulations, Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Public Health & Infectious Diseases Regulations 1988
- Implementing a systematic colour-coded cleaning scheme to both maximise and safeguard any potential risk of cross infection as well as promote a safer working practice and environment
- Ensuring that all staff are (a) trained in all aspects of infection control on an ongoing basis and (b) regularly screened using ultraviolet gels/light box display units to monitor best practice in effective hand washing
It will be one week from the time of the initial assessment for the agreed service to commence. You will be assigned a dedicated Housekeeper who will keep a record of all work completed with start/finish times, product usage per zone plus any prevalent Health and Safety issues. These records are kept at your premises to ensure that all key people have access. Basing Care reserves the right to spot-check their staff at any time.
